Groton- Reginald I. Spinney, Jr., 91, of Groton, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 3, 2021.
He was born on January 15, 1930 and raised in Elliot, Maine by the late Reginald I. and Caroline (Blaisdell) Spinney.
Reginald served his country from 1951- 1957 as a Medic in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Colorado and Germany during the Korean War. He also worked at Pfizer in the Citric Acid Department from 1953 until 1990 when he retired as a foreman. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Spinney, his daughter, Elaine Spinney and his brother Steve.
Pa or Pop as he was known as was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed riding around in the well-known “Pop’s Truck” and loved eating breakfast at Bufords.
He is survived by his brother, Brian Spinney and his wife Norma Jean of Elliot, ME and his children: Park Spinney and wife Dawn, Mark Sutton and wife Cindy, Robert Sutton and wife Debora, Peter Sutton, and Paul Sutton.
Pa will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Elisha Moore and husband Chris, Katelyn Clark and husband Jeffrey, Aaron Mumenthaler and wife Cassandra, Dylan and Emily Sutton, Joshua, Justin and Brittani Sutton as well as his 11 great grandchildren.
