"He Will Remain" (A Tribute to Rehmat Ali Qadir)

He will be around through the wind and breeze.
The earth gets cold, sky is here to freeze
for those holy memories of how he touched all hearts.
His time rests in peace while each hour departs.
The sun and rivers will live for his name
Nature now mourns with a storm: never tame.
Tears will dry all ache, the wound may heal scars
as Rehmat remains with each twinkle of the stars.

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long... and you have burned so very, very brightly, Rehmat.

Rehmat was so kind and so smart. I remember our last conversation was about going dancing, but I was so busy I couldn't go. Now I wish I had. He was so supportive of me as an artist and technologist and really a fan of my work. Always praising my work to others. I celebrate his life.

Our memorial service for Rehmat Qadir in NYC will be taking place on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2 pm at Mark Morris Dance Center, the place where Rehmats love for dance began. Details are below. Please join us as we gather to celebrate Rehmats life. We will share stories, show pictures, and dance. All friends of Rehmats are welcome.

Rehmat was always so kind to me. He taught me a lot of what I know about creating virtual reality, and always took the time to help me with whatever I needed. He was always completely candid and heartfelt - from his obsession with WWE to his struggles with mental illness. I am grateful to have had him as a friend and will think of him for years to come.

Rehmat was a true tortured genius; absolutely brilliant in so many regards, he was a good friend to me in college and I always tried to bring him up the best I could, I kept in touch with him up until about 6 years ago. He was truly a star and one of the most unique people I have ever met; inspirational. I do hope that his literary and theatrical works and writings are published posthumously; they were truly unbelievable. I actually just thought of him the other day when a song on the radio...

I have not met Rehmat, but got to know his father Dr. Qadir during his Michigan Senate 7th District election bid. Incredible family, awesome dedication to social service. Our thoughts are prayers are with Qadir family in this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.

Rehmat was an incredible friend, a genius mind, and he alone possessed more heart and than most people you'll meet in a lifetime. His enthusiasm and passion were truly one of a kind, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent the time with him that I did while working together in NY. He will be greatly missed, and while I wish things would have gone much differently, I hope he finds peace. Thank you for everything -- love you man. r.i.p.

Rehmat was a dynamic, unforgettable, one-of a kind guy with a strongly unique sense of humor and biting wit that will surely stick into the memories of everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him. We worked together a few years ago and he quickly became not only one of my favorite people at work, but truly one of my favorite people to grace this world. He loved dancing, coding and especially WWE and made it a point to educate everyone who would listen (and many who didn't want to listen!)...
