Reid Dennis was an aviation mentor of mine for over 40 years. Early in my career, I was lucky enough to hitch my wagon to Reid Dennis´s train, and that partnership lasted for many years. He was one of many valuable aviation mentors I have been lucky enough to be exposed to. He will be truly missed, and I shared many adventures with him. Blue skies and eternal tailwinds my friend Mr. Dennis.

We met Peggy and Reid when we submitted the winning bid at a Merola fundraiser for a picnic on Lake Berryessa on the Dennis's Grumman seaplane. Jim must have sneaked in the bid, as I was and am a frightened flyer, but it proved to be the best investment we ever made: excellent, sandwiches, an extra take-off and landing on the lake (I was outvoted), and incomparable lunch companions. We later hitched a ride with Reid and Peggy (and Pamela Rosenberg) on Reid's Gulfstream to the Copenhagen...

We are saddened to hear of Reid's passing, but are so pleased to have had the opportunity to work with him to share his love of flight. It is our honor to display N44RD, his around-the-world Albatross, at the Hiller Aviation Museum. Reid was a pioneer in so many ways and will be dearly missed.
