Renate was born on February 4, 1930 and passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018. Renate was a resident of Ionia, Michigan at the time of passing. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12 th at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11th, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and/or for those wishing to make a memorial contribution in memory of Renate, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

Renate was an amazing woman, and I feel very blessed to have studied piano under her for so many years. She was not only a gifted pianist, but also an incredibly gifted teacher. She was kind, generous, and very passionate about music. There was nothing half-way about her! My sincerest condolences to her family. What a legacy she left behind in her students!
