Not sure what to say?

Searching for information to caption some photos for another friend who passed away in November 2022, I came upon this memory page and feel compelled to add a photo of Dr. Justin when she was on a horseback ride with us in Rocky Mountain National Park. She rode with us a number of times in the early 1990s and was a joy to know. In the photo, on the ride over the Continental Divide in the Rockies, Mike Laughlin on the left, Pat Close, former Editor of Western Horseman Magazine (the lady who...

Renate is forever in my heart. Such a wonderful, special person. Miss you, but I know you're still with all of us whose lives you brightened!

I still think of Renate and feel so blessed to have known her. As with the previous entry, I have several postcards, one pinned in the kitchen, Renate sent on her travels. She truly loved and reveled in people and her many connections. Such a special person. Love you, Renate.

Recently I was scanning letters and cards into my computer and found, with delight the many postcards and letters that Renate had sent me over the years. She was a truly good and thoughtful person and a tremendous inspiration to all who knew her. I am thinking of her and missing her on this 2nd anniversary of her death. I am so grateful that I had a chance to know her.

Remembering Renate with pleasure and affection, and with everlasting gratitude that she, Arthur and the children were a part of our lives.

So sorry to hear of Renate's passing when I went searching for her address to send a holiday card. I'd moved and my addresses are in storage and inaccessible. Renate was my mentor when I started at the Longmont Kaiser facility and she came to be my friend. We hiked together on several occasions, including a Thanksgiving morning after which I was invited to dinner with her daughter Ingrid's family. I have many great memories of her, and will for sure act in her name in appropriate outreaches.

Dr. Justin was my physician from the early. 60s until she
moved from Terre Haute. I had a great deal of trust and respect for her. Recently I send her a note to thank her for the positive effect she had on my life. She responded with a note almost immediately. I am so grateful for that brief connection before she passed away. She was special!!

Dear Ingrid and Eric, I always found your mom to be inspiring and am ever glad we called all of you Justins our friends. I have treasured memories (and movies) of our trip to the Southwest. We have all lost a remarkable human being in Renate.

Love,
Catharine (Cappy) Crockett, MD
