My dear Rene,
It was a blessing to see you during our pre-Christmas family reunion. I am happy that my family and I helped fulfill part of your dream to see the world, when you came to visit us in 2005. Patrick and Christine will always remember you as their favorite uncle who joked around with them. Thank you for all the memories that we will always cherish.

Rene, I only met you once, last December, but you left such a good impression on me. There was a quiet and gentle presence about you.

I still can't imagine that you are no longer here. It was good that we were able to see each other in Manila last Christmas, a great family reunion which turned out to be your last farewell. I will always cherish the moments I had with you. We will always keep you in our hearts.
