I miss my uncle (Rene sr.) like no other. I often think about our long talks that we would have when I would go visit. We would go down the basement ( his man cave) and talk about his life, his kids, my kids but most of all my trips to Miami. I used to visit Miami every other year since 2001 and would talk to him about my trips. He loved listening to how the Cuban folks lived in Miami and how many things there reminded people of Cuba and he would just eat it up and would say how he would have...

I knew Big Rene my whole life. There are people that influence your life without your really realizing it, and he was one of those to me. I must admit as a kid, I was a little scared of him.
