You should have known him as a teenager! He Nd I cart-wheeled all over the grounds of Arthur Radford High School in Hawaii in 1966-67! We discussed WORLD PEACE (I’m sure) sitting on the Piikea Street curb In front of my house many late evenings....to my Mom’s distress! Golden-haired, enigmatic young man....a perpetual delight! I’m sad today my sweet, laughing boy! Kathryn Drury

Rene's glowing spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone in the community who knew him and those whose lives were touched by it. I feel very fortunate to have been his neighbor!

Rene......a sweet man with a joyful spirit and generous heart. Talented, charismatic and an inspiration to so many. Will be SO missed by many, but I take some comfort in that the Miller Park project will continue to be a living legacy left behind for us to remind us of the force of nature known as Ron and Rene.

Rene (and Ron) were like uncles to me. I met Ron and Rene in the Miller Park Neighborhood when I was just 9 or 10 years old. They, along with my family, were very involved in the improvements in the Miller Park neighborhood. They would also come with us to our cabin at Lake Wenatchee to cross county ski and just hang out. Those are some of the best memories to me and I will miss Rene as much as I miss Ron. Two amazing spirits that were able to grace this planet for such short time spans,...
