1960 - 2010FOTOUHI - Renee I lost my beautiful friend on May 10. She died in her artistic and very individual home in New Rochelle after an extraordinarily courageous battle with rare cancer. Her reason for being, her son Jordan, is also always in my thoughts. All who knew her feel an...

Not sure what to say?

My family and I stayed in Renee's apartment when we were newly married with our first little baby. Her space had such an influence on me. There was such a feeling of creativity, beauty, intellect and fun in her style. I met her only briefly, but always felt connected through that special time spent in her apartment. To Henry and Jordan, condolences and love from the Hanson family.

Its been a year now since Renee's passing. I think about her often and miss her tremendously. She influenced my life in many positive ways. Knowledge, ambition, freedom and love of the arts. She remains with us.

Renee was a wonderful friend, a great soul, and exceptional art dealer. Always fun, and articulate, with a modesty that belied her vast knowledge and intellect. You are greatly missed, Renee - and were truly one of the most exceptional individuals I have been privileged to know, and work with. The world was a better place because you were in it.

Renee was was a great spirit and friend during our shared years at Vassar. Though we didn't get to see a great deal of each other afterward, I cherished each opportunity I had to laugh with her.

I will never forget you. No words can express my sadness.

Renee and I spent the summer of '85 in a 15th century Gothic palazzo, Pisani-Moretta, in Venice, near Peggy Guggenheim's on the Grand Canal, among other spots in NYC.

A 20th c. NY version of a Persian miniature, she will be truly missed.

I only met Renee a year ago but I will remember her always. Her love for Jordan carried her through some amazingly difficult treatments and surgeries. Despite pain and terrible odds, she kept fighting because she wanted her son to know her as long as possible. She was --truly -- an inspiration.

Renee and I went to my senior prom in the 70's in Binghamton. She was always very witty and cheerful. I always have to smile when I think of how much fun she was to be around. My sincere condolences to her Husband, son, Dr.and Mrs. Fotouhi and also her sisters. She was really one of a kind.

Renee and I were good friends through our 20's and 30's as we worked our way up in our careers. We laughed, we complained, we propped each other up. I will miss her.
