I met Ms Stanley once years ago, when she was being chauffeured by her son Marc. I have known Marc for many years. Ms. Stanley and my mother were both born in 1929 but had wildly different upbringings. My thoughts and prayers are with the Stanley family. What a beautiful giving life. I know she was a witty, funny, highly intelligent woman, because I know Marc. I give thanks to God for her beautiful life, and the beautiful legacy she has left behind.

There are so many things about Renee to remember, from the time I first met her at a brunch in Dallas for the B'nai B'rith Klutznick National Jewish Museum in the 1990s to the time last year when Leslie and I had lunch with her. That last meeting was made possible by the first: Renee enthusiastically joined the museum, soon thereafter joined our Board--and soon thereafter called with a question: did I want to meet a beautiful young woman who had just finished a ballet career in Switzerland...
