Not sure what to say?

Russ was a fixture at pick-up hoops games at Addison Miller where we played together and then later against each other in UFA-ND high school games. Although we lost touch over the years, news of his passing is a shock but also brings back fond memories of a good friend. RIP Russ !

I knew Russ through the Curri family and will always remember him. He has accomplished so much in his lifetime. I am proud to have known him. He will be surely missed by many.

On behalf of the family of J. Lewis Kelly, I wish to share our deepest condolences to your entire family on the loss of a wonderful man. My dad, Lew Kelly, spoke of Russ often with the deepest respect and always with a smile. We are grateful to have known him through his good deeds. May he rest in peace. Nancy Kelly Sharkey Bow, NH

Marianne, I´m so sorry for your loss. May his memory be for a blessing. Sending you love and prayers to navigate thru this difficult time.

Cheif Brooks was a true HERO in every way. I spent many hours both in meetings with him or over the phone. Russ was always available to help with staffing questions, day to day operations and special response information and assistance. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and to the Utica Fire Department. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and by the Fire Service in New York. God Speed my friend.

Very sad to hear of Russ´s passing! Grew up with the Brooks family in 60´s and 70´s ! True role model! Dennis Reczenski Florida

There are no words of the sadness we feel ! Chief was our great FRIEND !! We will never forget you !! Lots of love to Marianne and his family ... Frank and Vinicia

Mr Brooks took my father by ambulance as he suffered a fatal heart attack . He prayed as he died in that ambulance with him and for him an act of Catholic charity I will never forget . It was a great comfort to know he was with my father the last moments of his life . I pray for the soul of Russ and know he is now with Jesus and Mary . God speed Russ .

Dear Brooks Family, It is with much sadness we learn of the passing of Chief Russell. He certainly was a man of integrity, honor and courage. May His Memory Be Eternal. Deacon Dan and Cindy Klockowski and Family
