Ret. M/Sgt. Bernard "Bernie" Matthias Zerressen, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away February 25, 2018. Bernard was born on August 19, 1938 in Paterson, NJ, to the late Matthias and Elizabeth Zerressen. In addition to being in the military, Bernard also delivered papers for the Playground Daily News (Ft. Walton) for 27 years.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Kathleen Zerressen; daughter, Heidi (Wayne) Cornutt; sons, Michael (Marlies) Zerressen and William (Lindsay) Zerressen; grandchildren, Jamie Turner, Adam Cornutt, Sean Cornutt, Kelly Mathis, Kristen Zerressen, Caitlin Withington, Jillian Campbell, and Brandon Zerressen; six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on February 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM, at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the service at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City.

To the Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
