I grew up with Rueben and was close to his entire family. I recall that Rueben and I was in the Alabama National Guard in 1953. Our unit went to Camp Stewart, GA for training. Rueben and I were co-drivers on an large Army truck and while we were driving back to Huntsville in the very early hours of the morning, Rueben ask me if I sleepy and my reply was no.
