I am deeply saddened to hear of Reverend Russells' passing. I have never met a man more dedicated to doing God's work. All you had to do was call and he was there with a prayer, yes in that deep, resonating voice. He will be missed on earth but I am sure heaven is rejoicing! Much love to his Family, he was a great Man.

I just learned that Reverend Russell passed away. I remember while growing up in Flint walking to Sunday School and church services at Vernon Chapel. I recall vividly the lessons that I learned from Reverend Russell's sermons. I also recall how reassuring Reverend Russell was when my father made his transition to his heavenly home. You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of this great man. I remember the first time I met Rev. Russell it was when my father passed away. From that moment on him and Mrs. Russell took my brother and I in as if we were one of their own. You will be missed but never forgotten. May God bless and comfort the family in their time of need.
