Not sure what to say?

I was picking around on my guitar recently and I started playing "Alberta Bound", by Gordon Lightfoot and had a bit of a flashback of how much I loved to hear Reuben play and sing that song. Neither I nor Lightfoot could do a better job than my ol' buddy Reuben.

I found out today from our aunt Ozelle (my fathers twin sister) that Reuben died. Im sorry to say that I did not know him well, we were kids and I lost touch but he seemed to keep up with family even when we didn't. He visited my father several times during his last hospital stay and I knew then he had turned into a kind and caring man. Thank you Reuben. You were a true "Terry" for sure! Billie

I always told everyone who knew Reuben that he was just as good a person as he appeared to be.He was ALWAYS generous, caring and selfless.Although he was my brother he was also my best friend.
I can't begin to tell you all of the stupid things that we talked and laughed about through 60 years.
I miss Reuben more than than I can express here.

This is from Gail again. I forgot to tell you that Reuben's send-off is going to be laid back/casual. Just as he would have wanted. We will have some lunch afterwards. Hope you can come.

You all have warmed my crying heart with your special stories and thoughts
about Reuben - many happenings that I never knew about before. Thank you for giving me such touching memories of him, ones that I will always treasure.
We hope that you can join us to give Reuben a good send-off for his last time to get on board that peace train. It will be Saturday, April 30, 1pm, at Gingerwoods on Rose Island Road in Prospect (right before Henry's Ark).
As each of you said so...

It's so nice to read all of the remembrances, and anecdotes about Reuben.
He was extremely unique and a breath of fresh air in this crazy world in which we live.
I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1972 and the good times of playing and singing with him many times in all of those years.
Once I casually mentioned my dad had played an old Stella guitar, and another time that he had also owned a Kay guitar. Not long afterwards, completely out of the blue, Reuben handed me an old...

I feel so blessed and lucky to have known Reuben and to have had him in my family and life for over 25 years. He was such a unique special soul...so sweet, gentle, positive, honest, giving, real. interesting and creative. He touched so many. He was himself always and had such a wonderful take on life and his own wonderful style. He was endlessly generous in all ways with his family and friends and strangers - everyone. He is so greatly missed and so greatly loved. Reuben, Harper and I...

Reubin was a humble, gracious man with an incredible spirit. Reubin and his brother Ed made a forever impression on me & my brother when they served as camp counselors at Otter Creek Park many years ago. On rainy days when we could not hike or take part in normal activities, Reubin made everything OK. He played his guitar & led us in song, skits & wonderful stories. I am in tears writing thie - I remember how he use to play Peace Train by Cat Stevens.
Brother Reubin - I love you &...

I had the honor of knowing and working with Reuben for 7 years at Christopher East as my assistant. I never had to worry about entertainment, because I had Reuben. Nothing else needs to be said. The residents and staff loved him and he loved them. In a business where lots of things are forgotten, Reuben will always be remembered. Gail and family, you are in my thoughts.
