Not sure what to say?

Charlie, I miss our visits at St. Benedicts and the wonderful evenings that we went to Grant Park. No doubt you can get front row seating now for every performance in Millenium Park. I was just there Saturday for a performance of Gershwins Piano Concerto. A friend Pat treated me and remembered meeting you at one Concert! Fr. John Hergenrothers Funeral is this Saturday at St. Louise. Knowing you, you have already given him a tour of Heaven. Miss you, dear Cousin. Miss you, too, Fr, John.

Father Kouba was a big part of my grandmothers life at 5000 block of south Heritage. My grandmother cooked for the priests at the rectory. There were many priests but Father Charles was always kind and came down to say hello and spend time with our family. He was bigger than life in my eyes and my grandmother always talked about Father Charles. Rest In Peace and Thank You Father Charles!

Dearest Family,

I apologize for my late condolences. Father Kouba entered into my life when my parents were residents at St. Benedict's. He was a man of courage, grace, and dignity. I looked forward to seeing him every day at Mass, meals, or in the hall; he was ever so patient, and encouraging, as I tried to help the retired priests and the residents, while attending the liturgy with Mom and Dad. A kind presence, an excellent counselor, and now, a saint to pray to...a bright light...

Dear Father Charles, I remember you so well at Our Lady of Good Counsel parish on Western Ave. It was great when Sister would announce your visit to our classes - you were kind with a great sense of humor. May you rest in peace.

To the family of Fr. Charlie:
First now finding out that another beloved friend
Of the Ordination Class of 1951 has been called Home.
I had heavy thoughts of Charlie this past weekend and
I tried calling him a few times but no answer. After I called
St. Benedict home and was told that he was no longer there,
and that I would need to talk to family (of which I know none),
I came here. So here we are. Dear family,
I offer you my most sincere...

Dear Charlie, I so enjoyed our last visit on Pentecost Sunday. We listened to the music in the Community room and sang along. And, of course, I will always remember our trips to Grant Park for their summer Concerts. Thank you for the love you gave to my Parents and brother, and my George and his girls. You have been welcomed home to Heaven by so many of our loved ones, a large party, I am certain. And our dear Lord is smiling to welcome home His Priest and Friend.
Will miss you, dear...

Father Kouba and my family shared many funerals together at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Chicago, where he was Pastor. Always a gentleman... now a Bohemian Saint! Rest in peace, Father... The Becvar Family

Dear Fr. Kouba:
THANK YOU for your dear friendship! I was truly blessed to know you. Recently when I'd come to visit St. Ben's I always made a point of coming by you and giving you a big hug. You made my day just seeing you. I will really miss you my dear friend! I really could see Jesus in you! Until we meet again in Heaven - rest in peace! I love you!
