my papa was the best papa out there he would do little things like take me and my sister to mcdonalds i would enjoy that because i would have the best time with him. he would pick me up at 3:15 so he can take riley to her therapy sessions and we would go to tops and get food like half of ramen bowls and it was enjoyable he would do anything for the people he cared about and would do the littlest things to make sure that you knew that he was thinking about you and i will miss that and i will...

I had the great pleasure to know Derek for the past 30 years and worked with him for 20 at RPC. Derek was an incredible guy with an amazing sense of humor and wit. He was always kind, generous and thoughtful. Derek was incredibly smart and always had amazing insight into many topics. Both of us served in the military and would often share stories from our time in. I'll also never forget the time we went to see the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan at Darien Lake..what a time! I will miss you...

Derek was my best friend all through high school. We won the Monroe County Chess Championship together and spent many hours across the board from each other. We spent every day together for the better part of five years, delivering papers and eating pizza. Our love for the Beatles was a constant. Derek changed my life from one of obedience to valuing my own identity. The time we spent together remains the highlight of my life. As far as I'm concerned, he will never be gone but always with me...
