Rev. Fred Jemison, Sr.  age 91  (Sept. 15, 1927 - Apr. 12, 2019), confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church Pratt City where he remained active until his death.  While at First Baptist, he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, choir member, and also taught the Men's Bible Class for many years.  He announced his calling into the ministry in 1973.  A few months later, he was called to his first church as Pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Woodlawn.  In 1988, he was called to Pastor, Pilgrim Home Missionary Baptist Church Hooper City, where he served until he retired in 2011. Rev. Jemison is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Sister Cleola K. Jemison, five children: Brenda (Landford) Huff, James (Gwendolyn) Jackson, Rev. Fred (Debra) Jemison, Jr., Audrey J. Hendrix and Roderick (Latrisha) Jemison; other relatives and friends. The Jemison Family will receive friends at Roberts Chapel on Friday 5 - 6:30pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday 12:00 at First Missionary Baptist Church Pratt City, burial in Carver Cemetery with Military Honors.
