Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home announces the death Reverend Louise Brown Davis-Phillips, age 85 of Vidalia Georgia, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Vidalia.
She was an employee with the Shrimp Boat for many years. She began working for Vidalia City School System in 1987 and retired in 2001.
She is survived by her spouse of 70 years, Reverend William Phillips of Vidalia, GA. She is the mother of 11 children: Sallie Jean Haywood of Savannah, GA, Christine Phillips of Vidalia, GA, Clementine Thomas (Enoch) of Saint Petersburg, FL, Herschel Phillips of Vidalia, GA, Gloria Gilchriest of Vidalia, GA, LuCinda Chafen (Willie) of Vidalia, GA, Willie Mae Green (Tammy) of Vidalia, GA, Angela Parrish (Greg) of Vidalia GA, Felecia Scott (Eddie) of Goose Creek, SC, Zelma Brown (Bobby) of Vidalia, GA, Regenia Tolbert (Ronnie Sr.) of Ladson, SC. She is survived by 5 Siblings: Raymond Davis (Louella) of Sommerville NJ, Mamie Harmon (Willis) of Swainsboro GA, Bertha Lewis of Atlanta GA, and Willie James Davis (Mamie) of Philadelphia PA, and Reba Jewell Brown of Sommersville, NJ. She is the grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to a host of children. She was an adopted mother and a grandmother to several special individuals.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 1 PM until 5 PM at Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home in Lyons, GA. The Family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 12 Noon from the Sanctuary of New Life in Christ Ministries in Vidalia, GA. Interment will follow in East Park Cemetery in Vidalia, GA.
