Not sure what to say?

Father John was beloved by all and a wonderful inspiration to all those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed and we feel fortunate to have known him.

A beloved friend of my parents, Art and Margaret Moran, our family appreciated Monsignor McSweeney's great sense of humor and intelligence. It was a great comfort to see him at our parents' funeral.

God bless you Fr John. I am most appreciative for your personal counsel and friendship. You were a great priest and a fantastic classmate at St Mike's.

OUR PRAYERS AND CONDOLENCES ARE EXTENDED TO THE WHOLE McSWEENEY FAMILY ON THE PASSING OF OUR GOOD FRIEND AND, MORE IMPORTANTLY, A WONDERFUL PRIEST.

I regret that I was unable to join the family in celebrating Father John's life, one rich in service and friends. He will leave a great void in many lives. He will be missed, but fondly remembered.
My condolences to the family.

I remember Father John fondly. He gave my first communion in Richmond. He was so kind and had a twinkle in his eye. He brought a calming peace to all those who knew him.

Our sincere condolences to all of the McSweeney family on the loss of Father John. He was always so pleasant and full of charm, and such a great historian on Ireland and Vermont, with so many stories of both. His long life and many accomplishments are a comfort to any of us who had the pleasure of knowing Father John.
Sincerely, Maurice and Jeanne Mahoney
