Not sure what to say?

Karen and Paula, I'm sorry for your loss.

Jerry was a wonderful outdoor companion. I had a memorable climb of Mt Hood and a winter ski campout with him almost 50 years ago. He was generous with his outdoor lore.

Dick and I had the honor of hiking with Jerry in 1959 in the Wallows. Later we built a log cabin using no power tools. Dick (Richard) passed away on May 14th of this year at 92 years of age. grace Talada

Jerry was an AMAZING man! He taught us great skills and was always a joy to be with....I will remember him forever. Jim R

Driving in traffic today I saw a face and I thought it was Jerry. I did not know that Jerry had passed.
This kind man not only shared a love of people and for all of God's creation, but taught me much about our local flora. His passion for the land and the people who dwelled in it was contagious. I served with Jerry while on the advisory committee for the historic Columbia River highway. He taught me about invasive species and how to mitigate these freeloaders.
I know now the Jerry...

Had many good times with Jerry. He had a fine motor home can't remember the exact name Jerry put on it something about an armadillo. He led me to my first climb on Mt Hood. What a blast with Rich Miller his two sons and a bunch of Airport workers. When he BAUGHT his property in Mosier Rich and I went up to help Jerry start his cabin there. Always liked Jerry's free spirit. We saw him and friends off from Timberline Lodge to trak the Pacific Crest Trail to the California boarder in mid winter....

Grace and I hiked the Wallows with Jerry and Boone White 1959. Jerry's knowledge of nature and Robert Service poems, made the trails come alive, with his spontaneous recitations of Yukon Life. He was truly a great one of a kind. What an honor to have known him.

Jerry was the great gift of my life. On Aug 28, a year after he died, I went to Sparks and Hosmer Lakes where we went each year, and paddled and enjoyed the sun rippling the water, the campfire flames, the keyboard music, the hot chocolate, the sunset and the stars as he taught me to. He will always be part of me.
