Many years ago I was making my way up a long & steep gangway to board a ship in the Ama anchorage when a crewman at the head of the gangway shouted down at me in broken English to “go away I wasn’t welcome on his ship!” Despite my shouts back that I was the vessel’s agent, he kept telling me to go away..
