Not sure what to say?

Mary and Family,
Ted & I read the letter from Jill to her Father Rex in the startribune on the 23rd of Dec. his birthday. We are so very sorry to have missed the celebration of his life. We did not know of his passing. Ted remembers him fondly from the Dayton's era before he moved on to other retailers. We just wanted to let you know we were thinking of your family.

Jill,
You don't know me, but I wanted to tell you that I read the thank you letter you wrote your dad in the star tribune on Tuesday, Dec 23rd, in honor of his birthday. I was so touched by this letter, and it made me cry so hard to read this beautiful letter you wrote to your father. I loved the part about the tip he would leave you under his plate when you would make mac n cheese for dinner. It was such a pleasure to read this article regarding your father. I could tell how proud...

to the shipman family, I Just heard that Rex had pass on He was my manager when he came into the Maintance dept at daytons I was one of the supervisors that reported to him and we did think a lot like each other. I'm very sorry of his passing and I know he is in good hands.

To Mary, Jill and Cinde-Please accept our deepest sympathy. Rex made such an impression on both of us. His dry sense of humor always made us laugh. We hope that your healing process will be helped knowing that so many people loved and respected Rex.

To Mary and Family,

Rex was the bus driver for our 3 boys since 2000. I remember putting my kindergartner on the bus and being told not to worry because we had the best bus driver.

Rex was so great with the kids and will be greatly missed by all the kids and parents on our bus route.

Our deepest sympathy,

Tonya and Carl Brandt and family

Mary, Jill and Cinde,
Wow what a wonderful person Rex was to so many people! It is obvious that he touched many lives. In that short visit I had with him I got a true sense of who Rex was and am sorry I won't have the opportunity to know him better. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you heal from this great loss of yours. Rex will continue to live on in the warm and loving memories that you share. With heartfelt sympathy,

Mary, Jill and Cinde,
I am so sorry for your great loss. I will always remember Rex for his warm heart and kind spirit. I had the privilege of being hired by
Rex in 1986 and working with him until he retired from Dayton's in 1996. He became my mentor and I owe my successes to him. I will cherish my memories of Rex forever.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. God bless you and your family.

Dear Shipmans,

My heart goes out to your family. I remember Rex being sarcastic, quick, accurate, calculating, an undescribeable, careful warmth and gentleness, he was a good person. I was thinking of him.

I remember sharing some holiday moments with Rex as a child, and enjoyed those times, I still cherish those family moments every day. I also remember, as an adult, enjoying a dinner at his house one time. I recall being such a welcome guest, and treated so warmly. I...
