There is a short poem by Yeats that always reminded me of Rhea. Especially - the sorrows of your changing face. I wish I had found the capacity to believe in her ability to change. Two women were lost in the space of two months. It is remarkable that both of them appeared to be very much alike. At least, I will choose to remember Rhea Simons as Jeanne (Maria Schneider) in that very famous film which only a real woman, beautiful complicated and passionate could ever play. I intend to keep this site up for as long as it takes for more men to remember this amazing woman. She had an army of fans and admirers, it is an honor to count myself among them.

the loss of rhea simons will continue to bother any clear thinking person for a very long time. a woman you could hold a conversation with, a free thinker, an enemy of dogma, superstition and religiousity. i did not know the man who was lucky to have married her; i would have married her in a heart beat. such a life with her would have no doubt been complicated but the complexities would have been more than equalled by her beautiful mystery. in an era of insipid consumerists and female...

I dated Rhea for a time in the mid-eighties. She was, and always has been, one of the most beautiful women I have ever met. I still have the card she sent with flowers - sent for no special occasion. I also kept a picture she gave me in a place where I could view it from time to time. I don't recall where or when it was taken.

Her fragile beauty, captured with such grace in this image, touches me each time I view it as...

Thoughts of you at this difficult time, we will miss Rhea greatly. She was always glad to talk with all of the staff at Riteaid Pharmacy. We have fond memories of her visits to here. So sorry for your loss and praying that love and memories will help you throught this time.
