Not sure what to say?

Dearest Rhoda,

You were my Teacher. You challenged me. You challenged me to be a Student. You challenged me not to read, but to love reading. You challenged me not to learn, but to think. You challenged me to find the back door when the front door was locked to me. You challenged me to prove myself, not to you, but to myself. You challenged me to challenge you and gave me the strength and courage to meet that challenge. You challenged me to challenge myself, forever. Through...

Frank and family. Words cannot express the sadness that is in my heart today. I just learned of Mrs. Radow's passing and I would like to send you and the family my most sincere condolences. As you know, Mrs. Radow was my teacher and debate coach, but more importantly she was my inspiration. We had so many good times together on all of those debate trips. She will be in my heart forever, and I will never forget her.

To the Radow Family:

I wanted to extend my condolences on the passing of my teacher and friend Rhoda Radow. She was my debate coach, English and Great Books teacher, a friend to my mother (Flossie Goldstein), and one of the influential people in my life. She opened her life and mind to her students and in so doing, made their lives so much richer. I will miss her but her teaching and high standards will stay with me and my classmates forever.

Richard Goldstein,...

I was deeply saddened to hear of Mrs. Radow's death. I had her for Gifted English 11 and Great Books the following year, more than 20 years ago. I can honestly say, definitively that she was one the best teachers I've ever had. While I didn't realize it until I was an undergrad, it was Mrs. Radow that taught me how to write a paper, and I've carried this into my professional life. I wish I could have told her personally.

Dear Frank, Scott, Brent and Irma:

I was so saddened to hear of Rhoda's
passing and of your devestating loss. Rhoda was a person possessed of amazing heart, intellect, compassion, inspiration and drive. When I heard of her retirement, I was saddened for all those who would not share the amazing experience of being one of her students. She is always with me, as I still employ many of the things she taught me on a daily basis. Rhoda was not merely my teacher and my debate...

I would like to extend my condolences to Ms. Radow's family. She was one of the greatest teachers I ever encountered. Her passion for literature and philosophy inspired me; she introduced me to Faulkner, Eliot, Joyce, and many others. I will always treasure our (sometimes contentious) discussion.

Rhoda was well liked by everyone and respected by her beloved students at Nova. She will be missed.

I am sadden by the passing of a devoted educator, friend and mentor. I was on her first European trip, the summer of 1969, and was enrolled in her English classes. She inspired me to teach and have been at it for 32 years. She will be missed by all.

As a student at Nova you had to know Rhoda Radow. She was a great teacher and mentor. I traveled through Europe with her and had one of the best times of my life. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
