Me and some friends in San Francisco were highly influenced by Spinal Tap . We formed a band and came up with a gimmick , like all bands do ,and we decided that we would be the only band in history that refused to play a note , under any circumstance . We called it " Silence ".... " Roots grunge " . I remember the record guy coming to see us once and he said he loved our stuff but he wasn't sure he could sell a record with no music on it .
