Ric Zittenfield

Ric was a special person. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Talented, hard working and a straight shooter. Still miss our calls and the photos of the trips he took.

Thanks Ric for the knowledge and riding experience you shared on the Victory forums. It was good to know you and sorry you never talked me into one of those damn lay-down plate holders ;)... Hope you're riding through the clouds.

So sorry to read of Ric's passing as he was a special person. I knew him through a food service business connection, but became friends for a number of years. Ric's description of the fun he had while riding in national parks on his motorcycle were very real and made me wish I could have joined him. Ric was proud of his service to our country --- I always liked the 1776 flag he flew at home. Ric's skill with commercial food prep equipment was well-respected by other professionals and...

I was acquainted with Ric by way of the Victory motorcycle and a Vic based message board. He freely shared his knowledge of the machine. We communicated via email often. A number of years back, He and a couple other riding buddies passed through my town of Willow Creek, CA., on the way to a MC gathering near Yosemite. They stopped and we had lunch in a local café. We shared stories via email on different topics over the years. He persuaded me to buy a couple Victorinox knives for carving...

Thinking of you, Carol and sending my love. I miss the calls and e-mails shared as well as the love for the open road. One of the best part of joining SCRC was becoming friends Carol, Ric and Terra. I loved how smart, optimistic, funny and talented he was and that he lived life to the fullest! ...I deeply miss his friendship. Rest In Peace, Ric.

We met Ric (and Carol) on a tour around Poland and maintained a healthy dialogue for about last seven years. He was a committed American with strong views and showed a love for his Wife, his Country and his bikes which he wrote about with a passion. Fly free Ric. .. a big pity we couldn't meet again.
