Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary



Ricardo Anthony Cantu, 25, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016.



 



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Deacon Anastasio Perez, officiant. Rite of Committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.



 



Ricardo was born on February 23, 1991 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ronald Myron Cantu and Myong Cha Pong. He was a graduate of Nocona High School. After high school, Ricardo went on to serve as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army for several years. During his military career, he served in Afghanistan and received the Afghan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO medal, and the Combat Medical Badge.



 



He is survived by his parents, Ronald Cantu and Myong Cantu; his wife, Carmen Morales Cantu; his daughter, Giahna Cantu; his sisters, Martha Cantu and her children, Skyler and Olivia, and Marlena Cantu and her children, Angelina, Cora, and Lily; his grandparents, Ricardo M. and Verline Cantu; and a large host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.



 



The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Owens and Brumley in Wichita Falls.

Not sure what to say?

In the days to follow I pray that time heals these wounds for Ricardo's family. May you find comfort remembering all the great times, celebrating the life that he did live. Don't ever doubt your heart for that is where he resides now. And please, please don't let yourself be led astray to feelings of guilt, it is something that he would ask of nobody. May you find peace in rest my friend, I will see you again one day.

To the family may you be comforted in the "Lord" and the memories of your loved one that is at peace with the world.

I'm privileged to have been like a second Mom to you Ricardo. I Loved you like you were my own. Thank you for serving our country. You will always have a place in my heart. You will be truly missed.

Our hearts go out to you at this time and in the days ahead. You are in our prayers.

I am honored to have serve along side you and the privledge to call you a brother is even greater. I hope you are in paradise and may you rest easy brother. My prayers are with your family.

He was a great guy.. got to know him well over our deployment in Afghanistan.. he will truly be missed.. sorry for your loss..

I pray for peace and comfort for all the days to come. He touched so many life's..
