Caroline, I didn't know you but knew Ricardo well from our discussions of geology, particularly Carlin-type deposits where we had a lot of overlap. I just saw him in Vancouver a scant two weeks ago. I am sorry for your loss.

Paula and I did not know Ricardo very well until his 50th b-day party and group ride out the Kokapelli trail at Dewey Brige. Thirty plus of his very good friends rode that day and we acted as guides. Ricardo's energy,friends and funny comments made the ride one of the most memorable rides P and I have done.
We also got to spend 7 solid days touring with him last Feb 2008. Again his love of the backcountry,his energy,his funny stories and the fact that he went to bed at a reasonable time...
