Not sure what to say?

He was a remarkable man. I grew up next to him and used to talk to him everyday when I was growing up. Just a really nice man and he definitely lived his best life. I just read this on social media.

I served with Dick from Oct. 1988 through June 1994 in the Naval Reserve unit in New York City which supported the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). It was a time of change - in the command's name, and its location: NAVRESSO moved from Brooklyn to Staten Island and then to Norfolk as NEXCOM, and to our support of it, as we were a NY reserve unit drilling locally and then later, traveling fairly often to Norfolk so we could better work with our counterparts. Dick and I met as young officers more than 50 years ago and is a friendship I cherish. Fair winds and following seas, old friend.

Dick was a terrific person and a great neighbor. He lead by example, always kind, cheerful and optimistic. We will miss him.

Richard was an exceptionally warm, kind and jolly human being. I and my family met him first, through Kathy, and then in our successive meetings both in India and USA, we became very good friends. Our family appreciated Richard for all the things he had done for us and also for being a wonderful human being. We deeply mourns his passing away. We are privileged to know him and convey our sincere condolence to Kathy and other family members. May he get eternal peace.
