Dear Mrs. Ahrens & Family,

I was shocked and saddened to find out today of Rick's sudden passing back in November. I found out just this morning when speaking with one of his Pharmacy coworkers. I have known Rick over 28 years, worked with him in the OPT Pharmacy at the VA Medical Center and then as a coworker here at Mercy Hospital-St. Louis. Rick will be sorely missed at St. John's. I am a nurse who works on the ortho floor where Rick was our go-to Pharmacist. From the first day I started my job and met him 5 years ago he was so wonderful and helpful, I knew he was a special man. He was by far the best Pharmacist at St. John's (just ask all of the ortho nurses!)and we will really miss him. My heart goes out to his family during this time.

Dear Terri and Family...so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. When I was at LSMS, Rick would stop in my office and we would have great chats about duck hunting north of St. Charles off the Mississippi. Saw him about a year ago at Mercy Hospital, passing in the hallway. Naturally, we talked duck hunting! I considered him a good friend and I admired him. Rick, Terri and the kids are in our thoughts and prayers.
