Not sure what to say?

I too met him in Sacramento during Boy's State, as an eleventh-grader. Though I was not from his district -- I lived in south Orange County -- as part Spaniard, Italian, and Hispanic, I wanted to meet him so badly because by then, he had made a name for himself. He was famous in my mind and in the mind of others. He was much younger then, and I remember him sitting at his desk with a small crowd of Latino Boy's Staters who were excited to meet him. I remember him asking me where I was...

I met Richard as a Boys State representative in Sacramento when he was a Assemblyman representing my district. We must have impressed each other :) as I served an internship in his local office one semester break between college semesters. I had something to offer, an opinion on a project he asked me to work on and he listened to me which impressed this college kid getting his beak wet in politics. In later years when I'd see him around in Boyle Heights/LA during his city council days, we'd...

I first met Richard when I was a very young director of a federally funded community health center in Highland Park. Richard was always extremely helpful and always made himself available whenever I needed assistance. He always had my back and I will always be extremely grateful. Gloria Garcia Guerin

I was very young and in the hospital not knowing anything that was about to happen and Richard walked into my room.

RICHARD ALATORRE IN EXCELSUS Read the story: https://bit.ly/3yDxaQi The Richard Alatorre I knew, the Richard Alatorre who said he had to change the world - and to a great degree, he did just that... that Richard Alatorre dramatically altered the political landscape for Latinos in California and ultimately became The Godfather of Latino Politics.

I met Richard Alatorre when I joined the ELA Jaycees. The members were mostly a growing number of Chicano professional men eager to be involved in getting other men like us elected to have our voices spoken for. And it was a place to learn about politics and the emerging candidates like Richard Alatorre and Art Torres and a few others who followed later.
This was a time of tremendous learning and necessary energy invested in the hard campaign work and raising the money to elect smart...

In 1976 Richard was the graduation speaker at my high school, Sacred Heart High, an all girls Catholic School in Lincoln Heights. I always remembered his message to us," it´s a man´s world so you will have to fight hard". RIP
