Not sure what to say?

His book is the definitive source for early Lockheeds. His files on the registration records for early Lockheed aircraft are maintained at the National Air & Space Museum, Washington, DC. They were extremely useful while building Web pages for some of the 96 Lockheed aircraft recorded in the Davis-Monthan Airfield Register, which can be viewed at www.dmairfield.org.

My remembrances of Mr. Allen were all pleasant. He pulled out sleds behind his car for winter fun. He ran the Round Lake Post Office with efficiency and a smile for all. Those who knew him were proud to see his picture in a national magazine as a recognized expert on covered bridges. He was a good family man and a gentle soul who graced my childhood with happy memories. Sincere condolences to Dick and Bob and the entire family.

Rick was a good friend who encouraged me many years ago (1960s) to pursue my curiousity into a little-known industrial subject. His accomplishments go beyond what he researched, wrote, and published; but by the many others who he inspiration to follow their own paths. He was a truly generous person - with his time, knowledge, and library.
