Richard Alonso, long time Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Member. One of a kind.

Richard was larger than life to me. Sadly I am just learning of his full life and the many contributions he made to people and organizations. I only met him in the 90's when looking at Century Hill with him. He struck me as being straight out of "Central Casting" and a guy I would like to "hang out" with. My regret is not having taken time to really know him. He was one of a kind.

So sorry for your loss. May Almighty God grant you peace.

Alonso family, may the God of comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow.

We will be looking for you "in all the old, familiar places. . ." We have lost and will miss our darling, dapper, winsome prince of a fellow. Never negative, always happy, always loyal to family, friends and organizations in which he believed. He would not want us to mourn his passing, but to celebrate with a drink in hand for what we shared while he was here. Susan Tillman

From all of us at Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters - Richard, you were the most loyal to us for 31 years on our Board. We just had our first Golf Committee meeting without you - certainly you are missed. Your family did a lovely job celebrating your life at the memorial and party. Your spirit was there. Now that you are in even higher places, send us blessings for the kids we serve.

May God the "Father of tender mercies

I consider myself blessed to have been Richard's friend. I envied his always positive personality and the way he pursued life. It made me reexamine my own. He was one of those few people you meet who are bigger than life. His joie de vivre was infectious, his generosity was unbridled. He lived with a smile on his face, mischief in his eyes and a sense of humor that enlivened every conversation. Somehow, when ever I saw him I felt uplifted by his spirit.
I will miss him, but I know I won't...

I am beyond sorry for this loss.. Gone way too soon. Richard's class, generous heart and beautiful spirit, jokes, infectious personality and his living life to the fullest lit up my friend , Toni' s life on a daily basis for what seems like a million years.
That smile stays with us forever. He will truly be missed by thousands of people that he came to know.
