Richard W. "Sandman" Ambrose

Richard W. "Sandman" Ambrose, 71, of Harrisburg, PA, formerly of Pen Argyl, PA, passed away Sunday, April 20th, at the VA Medical Center, 423 E. 23rd Street, NYC, NY. Born: Richard was born in Pen Argyl, PA on December 31, 1942, a son of the late Griffith and Bernice (Jeffrey) Ambrose. Personal: Richard was employed as a machinist at Crayola in Forks Twp., PA, until retiring in 2003. He was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School. Richard served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Memberships: Richard was a life member of the VFW and a member of the VNV Motorcycle Club. Survivors: Richard is survived by a daughter, Alesha Ambrose, of Harrisburg, and two sons, Wayne R. Ambrose, husband of Philip Gramley, of Harrisburg; and Scott A. Ambrose, husband of Chris, and two grandsons, Asher and Ronin Ambrose, of Huntsville, AL. Services: Memorial Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Pen Argyl, PA.
