I was caddying for dad in Hayward,WI in 1963, when he got his first hole in 1. The group in front of us was on the green. he said" I don't think I can get it there" (233 yard par 3) well, he hit a good one. Shortly after he hit, the group on the green was yelling. We were wondering if someone got hit, the walk to the green was a bit scary. We got near the green and the guys were yelling, "it went in"
"it went in", pretty cool. They were getting ready to putt with the pin out, here comes this ball and rolls into the hole.
Sure was a CLASSIC moment in time.
