Not sure what to say?

Here was a man who touched the futures of many whom he taught and helped give direction down life's pathways without maybe even knowing it. May God bless his family now and always as they go forward.

From a student who thought she wanted to teach languages but changed her major in junior year to become a social worker/DHHS employee of over 33 years.

Dick and I worked together at SPO for more than a decade. We were fellow numbers geeks.

Dick will live on in the lives of my students to whom I have quoted Sherwood's Law in nearly every course I have taught over 35 years: "Data is never available in the format and time needed and when available is available in the least convenient format such as furlongs per fortnight".

Richard Sherwood was a truly wonderful human being, a very dear friend, among the finest of professional colleagues, and a devoted Maine public servant. He was also just plain fun to be around, with his keen sense of humor. With all good reason, he will be long remembered and greatly missed by all who knew, loved, and admired him.

What a pleasure it was to have known Dick Sherwood. A wonderful neighbor who frequently gave me a ride to work (back when he drove to work.) His knowledge of all things related to Maine was remarkable. Condolences to Emily and Seth.

I was one of Dr. Sherwood students at Ricker College. He was one very nice person. Will remember him fondly. Especially how he never seemed to want to tighten his tie. RIP always.
