Not sure what to say?

I grew up with Rich, living in Newark De (Nottingham Green) and playing many sports / particularly football and ice hockey. He was a great friend and part of our YMCA club. A lot of memories of riding our motorcycles with Rich, Randy Becker and Mike Willis. I look back and wonder how we survived doing crazy stuff in the1970s (trail riding and no helmets!!) but hey it was the 70s. Rich was a great friend and a great person who has left was far too early. Rich, you will be missed and remembered...

I worked with Rich for years at the CEMRC and he was a great boss. It saddens me to learn of his passing.

I was taken by surprise when a colleague told me that Richard died. Richard and I met many times when he was a researcher at URI and I worked in Woods Hole, MA. I always looked forward to the drive over to URI As it meant I could spend a few hours with Richard. He would graciously share any and all of his data and ideas with me. More importantly he was gentleman and scholar and welcoming person. He had so many interests beyond science. Way too early to die Ed sholkovitz, 0ct 23, 2022

I offer sincere sympathy to all of Rich's family and friends. Rich had a kind heart and lived life to the fullest. He was a close friend of mine with many shared interests. Treasured memories include our Moto Guzzi sidecar rides, attending formal and semi-formal events, dog walks and e-bike rides, canine activities including tracking and pet therapy, Taiko performances and other social interactions. I will miss Rich immensely.
