Not sure what to say?

I was a young kid and a member of FBC Laredo where I first met Dick. I was about 7 and Dick of course some older. He and I loved each other always and always.

What can I say about Dick Baker? While a student at North Texas (67-73) and the pianist at First Baptist Church in Denton, Dick approached me one day and asked if I would join him and Bo on some of their evangelism journeys. I had the pleasure of listening to Dick as well as playing for him; literally watching him compose and generate new songs; as well as enjoying his warm company. I also had the pleasure of knowing Ann, and teaching his daughter Lori a few piano lessons. I hope Lori...

I remember the Baker Brothers visiting Midwest City Oklahoma in the 1970's when I was attending Country Estates Baptist Church. I was particularly enthralled with the music, as that was and still is my keen interest. There is a piece I performed all over after I learned it by Richard entitled, "I Sing of New Life". Unfortunately, I lost the music and know it is out of print. I wish I could find it again as I would be singing it once more. What a joy it was to meet them back then. ...

In 1956, I believe was the year, Dick Baker came to the First Baptist Church in San Marcos, TX. I was a student at Southwest Texas State Teachers College. He was with the week-long revival there. During that week I rededicated my life to Jesus. I remember him well. This morning while putting books back in my bookshelf, I opened one of my hymn books and there in the book were the handwritten words torn out of a spiral LONGING FOR JESUS. So I turned to my Laptop and found that he passed away...

Dear Baker Family,
I want to express my condolences in the loss of Bro. Dick Baker. I relocated to Florida in 2007, and somehow I never recieved word of the passing of Ms Ann, Bro. Bo, or Bro. Dick. I am glad for them, but am so very sorry the Lord has taken these saints home.
I first met Bro. Dick in 1986, while he was still serving at Prestonwood. His sweet spirit and gracious counsel were a great encouragement and challenge to me as I was starting out in the ministry, and remain...

Oh I am so sorry to just now learn of Dick Baker's passing. I have fond memories of being a part of his Prestonwood Choir from 1986-1988. While no longer having him in our lives is sad, it is a comfort to know that Mr. Baker has been reunited with his beloved wife and with our Heavenly Father. Christians never say goodbye, but only "see you later!"

Dear Family of Dick Baker: my name is Allan Cox, Tyler, Texas. I was 9 when Dick was 19 and he was in Baylor. He came to my home church, First Baptist Church, Laredo, and he wrote his first song during that week: LONGING FOR JESUS. He and I had that in common and we so enjoyed our friendship. I've been in church music ministry 53 yrs. and dearly loved that man. God bless you all. Allan

Dick and Bo came to Northside Baptist Church a couple of times in the late 1950's, where my uncle, Dr. Tallie Williams, was pastor. I was in my teens, but was church organist at that time. Dick stayed in our home. We even moved my piano up to the church for him to use on the stage, as he always loved to play along. Around 2000, they came to Crestview Baptist in Georgetown. I was the organist there at that time. It was such a thrill to once again play for them. We shared lots of...

Dick Baker came to East Grand Baptist Church in 1962 when I was 15. I sang in the youth choir...His face had the glow of Christ...What a wonderful voice...When I walked into Prestonwood in 1983 and there he was. I told my children we were joining the church that day. I have never known such a godly man...My heart is hurting and so sad that I did not know he was gone until Sept 12...I missed his service, I am so sorry Dick. He sang at my mothers funeral in 1991 and all of her Sunday School...
