Richard Barker

Dick was an inspirational leader at Capital and his passion for investing lasted a lifetime. I have enjoyed all the stories of Capital's collaboration with Sequoia in the 70s and 80s. Dick's dedication to Brown University has impacted many young people, and he has definitely inspired us as a family to support the cause. Rest in peace, Dick. We continue to celebrate your legacy in years to come.

Sorry my message was cut short. RCB was a wonderful mentor and was supportive to me. He loved his children so much and I am sure was a perfect granddad. My deepest condolences to all of you.

First of all, your dad gave me a chance. He was tough but fair. I was 21 and I wanted to prove myself as his administrative assistant. I worked hard and he respected that. I had no idea what I was doing. I just worked hard. He respected me and I respected him.

Fang and I are deeply saddened at Dick´s passing. We send our sincere sympathy to his Daughters and grandchildren. He was a very special friend, kind, a very patient listener and his advice was always deeply thought through and welcomed. I first met Dick over 50 years ago. We became reacquainted years later through SF Ballet. Fang, Dick and I worked closely to bring the Ballet to China twice. I am so sorry for your family's loss. I so enjoyed working with Dick when he was a member of the SF Ballet investment committee. He was a super thoughtful and insightful investor -- who care so passionately for the ballet. He was a joy to work with.
