Not sure what to say?

One of the hardest things we all have to face is saying goodbye to a long time buddy and confident.Dick and I played many a fun, competive, game of early morning golf and a weekly game of pool that extended for many years.I know I speak for his many friends when I say to his family that to know him was never to forget him.

For you: Tracy, Rick and Dan

Your Father will always be remembered for his outstanding sports records as well as his compassion and leadership abilites. My life has been enriched by your dad always being there when I needed him the most. I truly understand how very much he loved you and was so proud of your accomplishments. Your dad was my "little brother" and he called me "little sister" as we grew older together. My kids, Linda, Martie, and Mike looked up to Uncle Dick with...

All of the waitresses at the Balboa Municipal golf course dining room send their sincere best wishes to Dick Barnes' family. He was friendly and generous to all of us. We shall miss his courteous and friendly manner.

A good school mate and great basketball player!

I watched Dick play many basketball games at Peterson Gym while attending San Diego State. My wife, daughter and I met him in the mid-sixties and have been friends ever since. We were extremely sorry to hear about his passing. My wife, Faith, knew him slightly at Hoover. At the bi-monthly Hoover Class of 1944 meetings someone is always asking how Dick is doing. We share your family's great loss.

Our Balboa golf foursome, Jack Brown, Thad Woodland, Ray Ranieri and John Kleven extend their best wishes to The Barnes family nmembers. He was a stickler for the rules and we all enjoyed playing many. many rounds with him. He will be missed. As we all know he was good at almost anything he did. Goodbye Richard from your buddies at Muni.

Good friend!
