Not sure what to say?

It was an honor and a privilege to have known and worked alongside Mike. He was a good friend and a great mentor. Mike always had a big smile and a terrific sense of humor. Even though he was taken to heaven far too soon, it gives us peace knowing he´s in the arms of angels. Thank you for your 48 years of service to our community big guy.

Mike was a good friend and cherished fraternity brother. He was a memorable character and always quick with a joke or comment and made things better for his presence. Mike had a big personality and shared it with all he met. In later years we would run into each other and you were guaranteed a warm handshake, and a big bear hug by a man I admired and proud to call my dear friend and brother. You will be missed by many my friend, but will live on in our memories and lives.

Loved taking care of him at the The Retreat SAADs hospice

When I joined the police department 2006 Major Barton always made it priority to speak to me. He always had a story to tell from his time on the streets. He was truly was a friend. He inspired young men to become great police officers each and everyday. Thank you Major for always listening, you will truly be missed. RIP Major and prayers to the family.

May God be with the Barton family during this time of deep sorrow. As a fellow graduate of Troy University graduate masters degree program, Godspeed. Commendations to him on his many contributations to his community.

Major Barton was one of my first supervisors when I was a rookie. He was a great Sergeant. He challenged us to be the best we could be and encouraged us to always strive to be better. He loved us and taught us like a father. He loved his family, especially his kids. I'm sure that I am responsible for a few of his early gray hairs. He left this world a better place than he found it. I will forever remember my times with him as our Supervisor when we road the North Side. R.I.P. 210. You will be...
