He will be missed.

At twelve years old, Dick drew and gave me a picture of a P-40, one of the U.S. fighter planes of WWII. Two years my senior, we were students at the WASP Texas Country Day School, and his kindness toward me is something I have carried since that day. Dick lives on in the hearts of the legions he befriended during his lifetime. Aloha nui loa Dick

The Basses were one of my first employers on moving to Dallas in the early 70's. I owe my career in Accounting of Oil and Gas to them! Dick Bass was one of the most awesome men I've ever met. It was such a pleasure to have known him. He was definitely a unique individual. I loved to hear him tell a story! He will be sorely missed. May he RIP! I'm sure he's telling a story in Heaven right now!

So sorry to see the news that Dick has passed away. I worked for Preston Road Pharmacy and visited with him on many occasions when he would come into the store and one special visit he gave me his book, "Seven Summits". I treasured it then and I will surely forever treasurer it now! May he rest in Peace and prayers and healing to his family.
