Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Rick's passing. I worked with Rick at WTW Architects in Cleveland, until I moved to Florida. I appreciated him as my manager and mentor. My sympathy to his family.

I worked for Rick at VanDyke, Pace, Westlake and later at WTW as a very young and up coming Architect. He was a true professional that had great advise and was a great mentor. I wanted to be an architectural design lead and he gave me the job at just 24 years old. I did not let him down and together with a small team designed and built the Lake Erie college student union. The college was so impressed they later went on to do many buildings that resembled the first. 25 years later it still...

Rick was the epitome of a well grounded family man for whom there was no question of his first priority...team Jane and Laura. A kind man who carried his athletic frame with dignity and seemed to bring a sense of calm to every gathering. (Although he never met an M80 or package of firecrackers he didn’t want to immediately explode!) Rick was a beloved son, husband, father, brother and dear friend who will be missed by those who were lucky enough to “swim in his lane.”

Rick was a great swimmer at STRONG VINCENT H.S. In Erie, Pa. in the 1960's. He swam mostly freestyle sprints for us and was part of our All-American Freestyle Relay Team. Rick was just a GREAT kid and appreciated by all. Coach Vicchy

It was my pleasure to work with Rick on The Salvation Army's Capital Campaign. Rick was a good friend of the Army and Board member for many years. He will be missed by many. My prayers are with his family and friends.

I knew Richard from the past +10 years thru the Shaker Hts. Architectural Review Board. He became a great friend and mentor, in a lot of ways, mainly because we shared sports and design interests. Also, I really admired his keen eye and commentary on a world array of issues. He will be sorely missed by all his friends and colleagues. Have a great swim forever! RIP Richard.
Best, CWynn

Rick was a long-time member of the Village of Bratenahl's Architectural Review Board, serving as Chair for almost fifteen years. His professionalism and leadership will be missed. On behalf of the Village, we offer condolences to his family.

Rick was a respected architect, wonderful mentor and friend for many years as we worked together practicing architecture for over 20 years. Rick, I will miss our conversations, you always had sound and sincere advice. Laura and Asti, my deepest sympathy to you both, he will be very missed.

Sorry to hear about rick I'm sure we were distant cousins
