BEATH, Richard J. "Dick" - Of Flint, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Alan Sikes officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. A Military service will be held under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to New Testament Community Church Building Fund. Visitation 12-8PM Friday and 10AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Dick was born in Flint, Michigan on June 1, 1923 and was a resident of Flint all of his life. He married Lois Easlick on August 8, 1942 in Davison. He was a 1941 graduate of Northern High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Beath was a faithful member of New Testament Community Church. Surviving are his wife, Lois; 7 children, Sharon and husband Allen Wicker of Burton, Bonnie and husband Donald Dunning of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, James Michael and wife Jackie Beath of Flint, Roderick and wife Sue Beath of Clio, Susan and husband Carl Peake of Flushing, David and wife Elsie Beath of Temple Hill, Maryland and Larry and wife Charlene Beath of Flint; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Beath.

When we (David and I) got word that Dick had gone home to be with his Lord, we had mixed emotions. We were glad for him, that his pain and suffering were over. Our hearts go out to the family as we know he will be missed. Dick was accepted into God's family years ago with unconditional love from the Heavenly Father. My brother, Allen and his wife, Sharon, were giants in the area of unconditional love. I really think it was their testimony that drew Dick to the Savior. Dick, we will see...

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Beath. He was a kind soul whom I had the privilege of meeting. He will be missed by all who knew him.
