My heart goes out, belatedly, to his family. I really did like working for him. I saw him delivering out in lake county and we always had nice chats. Great man.

Richard H. Beaumont passed away Sunday December 26 at Sutter Hospital as a result of complications from continuing medical problems. He was born January 9, 1946 at Santa Rosa General Hospital to parents Wortham C. and Elphye M. Beaumont. Richard started grammar school at St. Paulus Lutheran school in San Francisco before transferring to Healdsburg Elementary and finishing at Healdsburg High School. Following that, he attended the Institut auf dem Rosenberg in St. Gallen, Switzerland during a year long family relocation and upon return enrolled at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with an agriculture major. His college education was cut short by the Vietnam military draft wherein he served in the USAF as a refueling specialist. After discharge, he returned to Healdsburg to work on the family dairy farm and prune ranch until it was sold in 1973 following the death of his father. During this time he met Cecile Nervo of Healdsburg with whom he had one son during their marriage. He then started a career working for UPS, first as a driver and finishing as a delivery center manager. In 1986 Richard met and married the former Pamela Candland of Napa and delighted in assisting in the parenting of her four children in their blended family. Richard was a lifelong resident of Healdsburg where he is survived by wife Pam, son Richard W. Beaumont, step children Kristine Bodily, Janel Picard, Michelle Baumunk and Jason Bodily of Yacolt, Washington and brother Henry Beaumont of Santa Rosa. Arrangements and interment are private. Friends interested in attending a celebration of his life are welcome to email [email protected] for details. Remembrances of Richard's life may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.
