It isn't often that you meet a person who touches your soul the way that Pappy did. He had an infectious personality and he could enrapture even strangers in deep thoughtful conversations. His nurses took lunch breaks in his room just so they could sit and talk to him. He had strong thoughts, feelings and opinions and never hesitated to share them at a moments notice. The tremendous sence of pride he emmitted for everyone in his family was amazing and I can only hope that all of those times,...

Pappy had nicknames for everything... beers for ears, pies for eyes, and my rose has always been my nose. I will teach all of his silly little nicknames to my niece when she is born this August. I cannot wait to buy her a train set and tell her about Pappy's car. Let it go on record: I was the first grandchild to drive the Studebaker. He wasn't nervous, but boy was I sweating! I was always "numero uno" to Pappy. Everytime I called he would remind me of that. He would ask me 500 questions,...
