Mr. Bender (always Mr. Bender) was a fellow teacher at Franklin H. S. He was funny, dedicated and hard-working - a pleasure to know. He also taught my son math - my son said he was the best math teacher he ever had - he was strict but helpful, making the students feel confident in their skills. I will always think of Mr. Bender with a smile.
My condolences to his family.

I also had the pleasure of having Mr Bender as my math teacher at Franklin HS in the 80s. He made such an impact on me, I always wanted to track him down so I could let him know what he meant to me. He was gruff on the outside but a total teddy bear and really cared about his students. He will be missed! Condolences to his family.

Loved Mr. Bender when I was a senior at Franklin High, 1987 - 88. He was very funny because when he called your name out loud unexpectedly he wanted to see if you were paying attention or not. Condolences to his family.

I remember Mr.Bender always made time before and after school as well as lunch to help support my math learning. He was always kind and supportive even when I was frustrated and upset with myself. I appreciate having had him as my teacher.

Mr. Bender was a favorite teacher to me and my friends at Franklin High School (class of 89). He was so kind and caring and he made us all laugh with his gruff sense of humor. I had always hoped to see him again one day to tell him just how much of an impact he made on us. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance. RIP Mr. Bender. I hope you knew how much you meant to us. We'll be sharing our favorite Mr. Bender jokes and remarks for years to come. You are gone but not forgotten.
My deepest condolences to Nancy and the family.
