Read MoreMy sincere condolences to the family of Bishop Garcia and to his flock in the Diocese of Monterey. My father worked with him when he was a priest in San Jose. We visited him just a few years ago, and he treated us like special guests. As we walked around the pastoral office and toward the church, he greeted all he met with a hug. He was clearly loved and loved deeply in return. My heart is heavy with this news.

When Bishop Garcia was in the Sacramento Diocese, he came to visit All Hallows school. My 4th grade class found out that Bishop Garcia's mother had recently passed away and the students made a card for him. I remember him being so touched by the card and he talked with the students about his mom. He was a very holy and down to earth bishop. God bless him and his family.

Bishop Garcia was such a nice Bishop whenever he would see me at St Jude's he knew my name and he was always there for me when ever I needed him and He cam over to my house a couple of times .He was well loved by me and my family and I will miss Bishop Garcia.May he RIP until we meet again.
