RICHARD BLAKE Obituary

RICHARD ENRIQUE BLAKE, M.D.
Died surrounded by family on December 20, 2017. Born in Panama, he was the son of Alan Patrick Blake and Dolores Blake Parkin-Butler. Dr. Blake graduated from Wesleyan University and New York Medical College. He was a Diplomate of the American College of OBGYN in OBGYN and Reproductive Endocrinology/ Infertility. He was an associate professor in the Department of OBGYN at Howard University College of Medicine. Richard is survived by his wife, Joann Blake of Potomac, MD; children, Richard (Wendy), Jonathan and Christiana, all of Montgomery County; granddaughter, Tinsley; along with siblings, Delano Blake (Saundra), Niel Parkin (Miranda) and Deborah Smith (Stan). The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Seven Locks Baptist Church, 11845 Seven Locks Road, Potomac, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Interment at Parklawn Cemetery. Arrangements by McGuire.

DR.Blake was my favorite doctor he would go far and beyond to treat and diagnose ...I got pregnant because of his instruction I miss him so much I have not been able to f8ne an doctor as good as him since his passing..my condolences to his family

Joann and family, I am deeply broken and completely sadden to know this heart breaking news. I can not begin to grasp my finger around this, I am in tears and I am so very sorry for your lost. Dr. Blake was my only doctor and there will never be someone like him ever. Please accept my condolences and I only wish to have known sooner to pay my respects. To the Blake Family My heart is heavy and I'm truly sorry for your loss. Dr. Blake has been my doctor for over 35 years. My daughter, Sisters, and friends are a part of the Blake family. I thank you for all the wonderful years we shared with him. His professional experience will truly be missed. This is hard for to right now because I was calling to get an appointment, and this is what i found. Just know that his fine works and TLC will always remand in my heart. Glad I got all my surgeries in and out of the way, because Dr. Blake was the only one who could perform surgery on me. What a privilege to have him as my GYN.
To Mrs. Blake, I would like to share that your husband was an awesome outstanding scholar.

Today I learned of Dr. Blake's passing and I am deeply saddened. He had been my physician for over 20 years. He was an excellent doctor and I will truly miss him. I only learned of Rick's passing on the day of his memorial when I went to the operating room. Praise the Lord I was able to make the service to pay respects to this gentle spirit. I am happy to know that his spirit is with Jesus and that we believers will see him again. To Joanne & the family, thank you for caring for him during these tough months while he went through the valley. He no longer suffers. Praying for God's strength during this time of great loss. May the Lord continue to lift you up during this time.
